| Dear Mr. President, I cannot help the nagging feeling that there is a huge smoke and mirrors game being played in regard to the Department of Agriculture. We see your lovely and intelligent wife planting an organic garden and teaching children sustainable responsible farming practices. In contrast we have Former Monsanto lobbyist Michael Taylor and Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff in line for positions regarding our nations food safety and indirectly our nations health. Would you please explain to me why one would support for these positions a man who represented a huge chemical company profitting from both constructing bioengineered products and the chemicals used along side them and a man who is in favor of limiting the public's knowledge of the production practices of their dairy products? These men along with USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack represent what is wrong with the system and placing trust in them makes one question your comittment to public health, public education, the environment and most importantly CHANGE! |
